This package is made for clients who have limited time for a longer safari but have few days at their disposal and are interested in seeing majestic gorillas in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable or Mgahinga national parks. Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Pick up at your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala have a short briefing with your safari guide about the journey of the day. Embark on the 9-hour drive to the western region of Uganda that’s rich in culture, famous for the Ankole long horned cattle and the most energetic and hard working Bakiga people that inhabit the Kigezi highlands. Throughout this long drive, we will have several interesting stops as we interact, learn more about the social cultural aspects of the Kiga and Nkole people. Your guide will explain about the lives of the local people. We will have a hot lunch at Igongo cultural restaurant in Mbarara and then proceed to Bwindi where we will check in at your lodge for overnight.

Day 2: The Gorilla Trekking experience
Today, you have the golden chance to trek Bwindi mountain gorillas with the help of UWA trackers and rangers. After your early breakfast, you will have short drive from the lodge to the briefing center where you will be taken through the dos and don’ts of trekking gorillas. The trekking may take 2-6 hours given that the nature of the trek is unpredictable. As such, we recommend you to carry water and packed lunch and also rain gear since there is a possibility of rain pouring anytime of the day. During the briefing, you will be assigned to a gorilla family which you will trek along with a group of other eight visitors.
You will be accompanied by the armed ranger and guides off into the forest to search for the gorillas. After gorillas have been located, you will have 1 hour viewing them as they feed, play and groom each other. Ensure to switch your camera and phone flashlight off and keep all devices in silence so that you don’t disturb the gorillas.
After the one hour your will trek back the vehicle and return to lodge for lunch and relaxation. You can compliment your memorable gorilla trek with a community walk and cultural experience.

Day 3: Depart from Bwindi to Kampala
Following an early morning breakfast (at 06:30 am), we will depart from Bwindi and head to central Uganda. During the long drive of over hours you will have scenic and photographic stops en route. We will have our hot lunch at Igongo Restaurant in Mbarara continue the journey and make another stopover at the equator to take some photos or do some souvenir shopping at the equator. Drop off in Entebbe or at the airport in case you have a flight the same day to mark the end of your 3 days gorilla trekking adventure. If you’re spending a night in Entebbe, you can book a half day Shoebill Excursion before your flight.

What we recommend for Gorilla Tracking
- Carry a face mask and if possible and an extra one. It is mandatory to wear face masks while in presence of gorillas to protect both the gorillas against human infectious diseases.
- Put on nature blending colors. (Avoid loud colors like red).
- Carry a pair of hiking shoes and hiking gloves
- In Bwindi, it can rain any time of the day and the forest floor is always wet. We recommend you to carry rain gear like rain coat, waterproof jacket and gaitors for extra leg protection)
- Wear or have Long-Sleeved Shirts and Hiking Pants/Trousers.
- If you have Cameras, we recommend you carry extra SD cards and batteries if possible.
- Also make sure that your phones are fully charged and have enough space to record some videos.
- Ensure you water bottle are full before heading out to the forest.
- Ensure you have packed lunch since this activity can take between 2-6 hours or more.
